Dentures are removable appliances that can replace missing teeth.  They help restore your smile and regain function.  There are different types of dentures including partial dentures, complete dentures and overdentures.  The appropriate option will be individualized and recommended based on the clinical findings.

A denture should be made to closely resemble your natural teeth.  A photograph showing how your teeth looked prior to being lost will aid in achieving a natural smile.  Upper dentures should not fall out while eating or speaking.  Many patients have difficulty with the stability of lower dentures.  There are options to increase their stability including the use of implants or by preserving a few teeth to “snap” the denture in place.  Clasps are also utilized to stabilize a denture that replaces only a few teeth.
